Does Gym Jones favor the RKC style of KB swing, as opposed to the American style favored by Crossfit (KB completely overhead)?

I've always thought putting the KB all the way overhead was ridiculous. Maybe it takes more power to get it there but it also gives a longer rest cycle between reps, and it makes the swing leg dominant instead of hip dominant: the user must drop into a deep squat to catch a KB falling from such a height. Don't we get plenty of squatting motion in a bunch of other exercises? Isn't the point of the KB swing the horizontal hip drive? And explosive at that? We typically advocate the KB reaching a height where the player can see the horizon beneath it. But John Spezzano, who we go to for all things KB at this point, doesn't see even that height as necessary.
