2009: Attempt to climb and ski Mount Foraker in the Alaska Range. Denied by snow conditions.

2008-2009: Heli-ski guiding in Valdez, AK

2007: Ski Mountaineering in the Almorz mountains of Iran; descents of Chloon (14,997'), Alamkuh (15,741'), and Mount Damavand (18,671')

2007: on 2/23 Dylan earned a black belt under Khru Will Bernales in Will's interdisciplinary system that includes Jeet Kune Do concepts, Muay Thai, the Filipino arts (Kali, Escrima, Silat), and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The rank is the result of many years of dedicated effort, private lessons, and inspired mentorship.

2006: Numerous first ski descents Trolaskagi Pennisula of Northern Iceland

2005: 96th place (with teammates Mark Twight and Matteo Giglio) in the Trofeo Mezzalama (the world's oldest ski mountaineering race). Total elevation gain during the event is 9,389', with descent totaling 10,318', across 27 miles of horizontal distance reaching a maximum altitude of 13,864' in a time of 7 hours 55 minutes.

2005: Ski up and down the Grand Paradiso (13,281') in the Val Saveranche, Italy. Almost 7000 vertical feet of elevation gain over five miles. Round trip in 5hrs 10min.

2004: Tenth place in the Powderkeg ski mountaineering race, Utah: 1500 meters of elevation gain and loss across 13.5 kilometers in a time of 2 hours 20 minutes.

Dylan studies Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the Pedro Sauer Academy, trains Muay Thai, Kali and JKD with Will Bernales, shot well in IPSC competition when he was into it, and skis about 10,000 vertical meters per week (uphill) and helps me with military training work from time to time. He has Outdoor Emergency Care and Wilderness First Responder certifications as well as Level I, II and III avalanche courses under his belt. He's an amazing kid with a bright future.
