THE STORY BEHIND OUR T-SHIRTS
When Gym Jones was started there were no tchotchkes (or chotchkes if you prefer).
Eventually we printed t-shirts bearing the Gym Jones logo and gave them to those who earned them.
These t-shirts will never be sold.

When we initiated the Salvation club we produced t-shirts to deliver with each membership,
which signify involvement at a deeper level. Joining the Salvation club is the only way to
receive one of these. Art is on the front. Also available in women's, fitted size.

Finally, due to demand, the fact that it makes economic sense, and that our business coach
wore me down we are making a t-shirt available to everyone. Wearing it in public will require
some commitment. Not all viewers will appreciate the slogan on the back of the shirt, which
reads, "There's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison in the jungle." Some readers
will be offended, while others will merely scratch their ignorant heads. The Dude, aka Big Jim
is printed on the front. Also available in women's, fitted size.
Note: These are American Apparel 100% cotton t-shirts and run slightly small.

For most of us at Gym Jones there is a soundtrack to everything. Back when I was climbing hard,
and usually alone music was climbing partner. On one particularly eye-opening route in the Alps the
right song probably saved my life. After hearing that story a friend reminded me that "when the going
gets tough the tough turn up the volume" and it became a personal mantra. The saying stuck for 25
years, and struck a chord with others so we put it on a shirt. As with our other shirts The Dude,
aka Big Jim is printed on the front. Also available in women's, fitted size.

KISS OR KILL BY MARK TWIGHT |
Kiss or Kill features a collection of writing produced between 1985
and 2000. All of the work was previously published. However, these are
Author's Cuts, not the homogenized fluff offered up by specialty
climbing magazine editors who are often unwilling to offend
subscribers and advertisers. Some material was only released in
France, Italy, Canada or England. All essays were rewritten and
appended with a Year 2000 perspective; describing inspiration, events
that followed, and lessons learned (or not learned, some might say).
While mountain climbing is the central theme, climbing itself mirrors
many other experiences: there are successes, failures, and a learning
curve paralleled by a process of becoming. Kiss or Kill is a memoir
documenting the journey toward maturity as a climber and consequently,
as a human being. The lessons are universal.
This is the fourth printing of the softcover edition, 208 pages.
Each copy is signed and/or dedicated by the author.
